Residential Tutorial for 2017 Concludes

Anglican Chaplains and postulants gather for an intensive week of hands on training in liturgics….

Chaplains Mike Demmon, Shanon Cotta, Ben Knoblet, Brett Hedgepath, Steven Lanclos, Nathan Bistis, Ian Burgess, Chris Wilson and Danny Nobles attended the 2017 JAFC Anglican Tutorial at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Birmingham, AL.

Through this week-long residential practicum, participants are provided an intensive and comprehensive hands-on course in Anglican Liturgics. During the week participants receive systematic and concise summaries of each liturgy of the Book of Common Prayer followed by instructed demonstrations and then opportunity in small groups to practice functioning as Officiant. Emphasis is given to the Divine/Daily Offices and to the liturgy of Holy Communion/Holy Eucharist.

Students expressed thanks and appreciation for the facilitated discussion and opportunity to practice biblical Anglicanism while also contextualizing ministry in the unique climes and places where Anglican Chaplains bring the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to people. The Residential Tutorial is a wonderful, valuable and essential opportunity for intense, intentional formation in how we as Anglican Christian clergy conduct Anglican Worship.

 * The next Residential Tutorial will take place 17-21 September 2018 at St. Peters Anglican Church in Birmingham, AL.
