Air Force Chaplain The Reverend Lamar Reece and his wife The Reverend Diane Reece ‘yoked’ for the Lord… Sometimes “a picture is worth a thousand words.”
JAFC Chaplain The Reverend Peter Fischer was reviewing some pictures taken at Joint Base San Antonio Lackland, Texas, and came across the above photos of The Reverend Lamar Reece taken on one Sunday in October 2016. As you can see in the picture on the far left, empty seats are hard to find! Attendance at a liturgical worship service in the Air Force usually does not exceed 25-30 people, however Chaplain Reece has anywhere from 120 to 250 each week at the service where he and his wife, Deacon Diane Reece, serve the Lord in the Anglican tradition. As they are both quick to attest, it is the Gospel and its power through the Holy Spirit that calls those who seek the truth. But those of us who read this account also know that having a partner who shares in the Lord’s calling reminds us of Genesis 1:27, that it is good to remember when God made man in his image, He made a husband and wife “yoked” together as one flesh (2:24)
